Residential Architecture
Main courtyard facade — designed to bring daylight and greenery into the center of the home.
- Project Overview
A home organized around light, air, and everyday life.
The Courtyard House was designed for a young family looking for a private home that could still feel open, bright, and connected to the outdoors. The site required a careful balance between privacy from the street and natural ventilation throughout the interior.
Instead of placing all rooms around the perimeter, the house is organized around a central courtyard. This internal landscape brings daylight, fresh air, and visual connection into the living, dining, circulation, and family areas.

- The Result
A private home that still feels open.
The completed house balances privacy, openness, natural light, and everyday functionality. The courtyard creates a consistent visual connection between spaces while helping the home respond naturally to Yogyakarta’s tropical climate.
